Data scientist and artist Mona Chalabi writes about her NY Times opinion piece on inequality and corona virus: “When you think about who is most affected by Covid-19, you need to consider inequalities in housing, in access to healthcare, in wealth. And so much of that ends up consistently affecting people of color. You could think of it as overlapping circles in a Venn diagram. Or, you could look at these 100 people.”
Beatrice Kaufmann works as a research associate at the Bern University of the Arts (HKB). Her field of interest is health care communication design and social design. She has extensive practical experience as a graphic designer and illustrator.
“Learning from Corona” is particularly concerned with questions concerning the visualisation of the current pandemic, as well as related questions in the health care system that have become visible through the crisis. It is a blog of the Bernese research group Health Care Communication Design HCCD. HCCD is conducting interdisciplinary research on issues relating to health and design.
